The Alps are not the only breathtaking and defiant mountains
in Europe which tempt one with their conquest. The Olomouc
Region offers a number of cliff faces of varying difficulties.
Beautiful natural surroundings, fresh air and views of the
landscape await you from places where the normal tourist never
goes. Places only dreamed of, or seen in photographs or television
documentaries. Through the media the ordinary mortal can get
only a glimpse of what the mountain climber experiences.
When scaling obstacles it is easy to completely exhaust your
strength, but the result is certainly worth it. Improve your
condition, fortify your self-confidence and together with
a friend, you must learn to completely trust another. A few
dozen minutes of sweat and toil will be rewarded not only
with adrenaline in the blood, but by gorgeous views of the
countryside which the peaks will open up to you.
For whether you are a seasoned climber or a raw beginner,
the Olomouc region has what you are looking for. If you are
an active climber, then you have plenty of opportunities at
your fingertips. If you are not, you will find inspiration
on artificial and natural climbing walls. Novices do not have
to buy their own gear - there are many rental shops which
supply gear for hire and will fit it to your needs.
Seasoned mountain climbers are aware that safety comes before
haste, so do not forget this principle. The strict rules which
must be obeyed by mountain climbers and hikers are also in
effect in protected nature areas. Before taking on an unusual
sporting experience on a mountain peak it is not a bad a idea
to refresh one’s knowledge of first aid.
